Daylillies If you have a brown thumb, have had all your plants die that you purchased, you have not tried daylillies. These are good beginner plants and are maintance free. Daylillies bloom for, you guessed it, one day. That may not seem impressive by itself but a blooming cycle for an established clump may last for 30 to 40 days. Daylillies fill a niche in your landscape. Daylillies have attractive flowers, their foliage makes an excellent cover on the ground, and they come in many heights(one to four feet) and colors(varios shades of white, orange, red, pink, and purple. The flowers themselves vary widely in form with crinkled, frilled, overlapping, and ruffled flowers from May until September. Daylillies can take adverse conditions for they are tolerant of drought and flooding. Daylillies grow in a wide range of soils, sun conditions, can take the stress of heat, and if you really get hungry have edible flower heads.

Plant daylillies in full of partial sun. The old Tiger Lillies do well even in full shade. To have spectacular, plants adjust the ph to 6-6.5 and plant them in an area with good drainage and lots of humus. Planting time is April to September. Seperate your daylillies by their height. If your plant will grow to 24", plant the clumps 24" apart. You should not have to do to much watering after the initial planting. Don't waste your money on fertilizers unless your soil is really poor. Excess fertilizers will make more flowers but they will be weak stemmed and break easily.

We always carry wide selection of daylillies. I have not listed all varieties that we sell. If we don't have the exact one you want we will try to get it for you.
